Ghanaian actress, film producer and director Yvonne Nelson has criticized the Akufo-Addo-led NPP government over the economic hardships.
The well-known actress boldly told the president that Ghanaians are fed up with his uncaring government.
In a tweet on her official account today, August 23, the multi-award-winning actress stated that Akufo-Addo’s government’s campaign promises during the 2016 election have become a folktale (Ananses3m).
“One thing about this government ……they don’t care….. but, they care about power and the prestige that comes with it. we will start making y’all care. Your campaign promises …… all ANANSESEM,” she wrote.
She further stated that Ghanaians will no longer sit aloof and watch government deceive them like before.
“Deceiving us? My Generation? We won’t sit and watch you guys play with our future and that of our kids. Ghanaians deserve better,” she shared.
She stressed, “we are fed up with this hardship….very obvious this government has gotten all it wanted and is ignoring the people (Ghanaians) @NAkufoAddo.”
Ghana’s cedi is currently depreciating awfully, with Bloomberg ranking it as the world’s worst currency, trailing the Sri Lankan Rupee.
The country’s inflation rate is also rising, driving up the prices of goods and services to the point where the average Ghanaian is struggling to make ends meet.
