Police arrest 22 suspects in connection with illegal mining at Dominase Nkwanta and Adjakaa Manso

The Western Central Police Command has arrested twenty-two (22) persons for illegal mining activities at Dominase Nkwanta, Adjakaa Manso and other areas in the Western Region of Ghana.

The suspects, according to the police, were arrested on April 8, 2025. The twenty-two suspects are Albert Adu Bonsra, Stephen Kwakye, Richard Atigah , Yaw Menanyi, Al-Mustapha Alidu, Jutu Francis, Hakitu Zibo, Nana Yaw Boakye and Kwesi Evans.

The rest are Isaac Cobby, Bashiru Ali, Atta Francis, Ayew Sali, Fataw Gariba, Kwame Emmanuel, Kwesi Francis, Abapor Frank, Wasah Moses, Bukari Haruna, Abdulai Lukman, Yeboah Rashid, and Alkainu Hassan.

A statement issued by the police stated that it retrieved eleven (11) pumping machines, seven (7) shovels, a pickaxe, and two (2) chamfan machines from the various sites. The suspects are currently in police custody and are being processed to face the full rigours of the law.
