I will wage war against poverty if I become President- Dr Adutwum

Former Education Minister, Dr. Yaw Osei Adutwum, has declared that should he become President of Ghana, his administration will launch a decisive war on poverty, with Ghana emerging victorious.

He expressed confidence in the nation’s potential, stating that if other countries have successfully overcome poverty, “Ghana can—and will—do it with determination and ease.”

“I believe together we can create a better nation, a nation that we will be proud of. We will wage war against poverty and win. There is no reason why something Singaporeans have done we cannot do, something South Koreans have done we cannot do, or China is doing, we cannot do,” he remarked.

He continued, “Vietnam is now seeing a major transformation. They have created one of the best systems in the world. They train 100,000 Engineers a year. Now all the companies that are moving to East Asia, they are moving to Vietnam because they have people they can work it”.

To Adutwum, 20 years from his leadership, the people of Ghana will remember him for the work he put in to make the country a better place.

On the 2028 election, Dr Yaw Adutwum acknowledged that the New Patriotic Party has a very daunting task ahead, however, with hardwork and determination, the party can wrestle power from the National Democratic Congress (NDC).

“We have to have a vision, paint that vision to Ghanaians. Let them understand where we want to take the country. That is a useful lesson that I want people to know that there are some who talk, there are some who do and I did not mention it before the school opened. We will change Ghana without much funfare, we will change the nation,” he said while speaking at the Koforidua Technical University TESCON Leadership Conference and Orientation.
