Sansa Daly has never been President Mahama’s physician – Govt Spokesperson clarifies

The Minister in Charge of Government Communications, Felix Kwakye Ofosu, has debunked allegations that the recently dismissed National Health Insurance Authority (NHIA) board member, Ann Sansa Daly, was the personal physician of former President John Dramani Mahama.

Ann Sansa Daly’s appointment to the NHIA Board was abruptly revoked within days, sparking widespread public debate.

Concerns quickly emerged from sections of the medical community regarding her professional legitimacy, including questions about her certification to practise medicine in Ghana.

Her regular appearances on television offering medical advice have since come under heightened scrutiny, with critics arguing that her credentials had not been adequately vetted prior to her appointment.

In a statement dated May 23, the Presidency announced the nomination of Professor Dr. (Med) Ernest Yorke, current Vice President of the Ghana Medical Association (GMA), to replace Daly on the NHIA Board. He is expected to be sworn in soon.
