SAD NEWS: JHS graduate allegedly commits suicide over school placement

19-year-old Junior High School graduate Priscilla Ani-Agyei on Monday took her life by hanging at Nsenie in the Oforikrom Municipality of the Ashanti Region.

Afia Anin-Agyei, mother of the deceased, believes her daughter may have taken her own life after she discovered that she was yet to get placement to any of the senior high schools online.

The deceased is said to have obtained aggregate 45 in the just ended Basic Education Certificate Examination (BECE).

Police have launched investigations into circumstances leading to the death of the JHS graduate as concerns grow over the increasing suicide cases in the country.

Meanwhile, body of the deceased has since been deposited at the KNUST hospital morgue for preservation and autopsy.
