The Member of Parliament for Adansi Asokwa in the Ashanti Region has made a serious allegation against Dormaahene, accusing him of being a member of the opposition National Democratic Congress (NDC).
It could be recalled that the Dormaahene, Osagyefo Oseadeeyo Agyemang Badu II, appealed to the Attorney-General (A-G), Godfred Yeboah Dame, to drop the criminal charges against James Gyakye Quayson, the Member of Parliament for Assin North.
Reacting to the Chief’s call, the Minister of Trade claims that the Dormaahene, Osagyefo Aseadeeyo Agyemang Badu II, has violated the constitutional directive that prohibits chiefs from engaging in active politics.
In a conversation with Kwesi Parker-Wilson, host of Oyerepa Breakfast Time, K.T. Hammond confidently stated that the Dormaahene has always been a member of the NDC, despite the fact that chiefs are not supposed to involve themselves in politics.
When questioned further, Hammond reiterated his claim without providing any evidence to support it. He emphasized that he could be quoted anywhere as saying that Dormaahene is an NDC member before making his way to his waiting vehicle.
“You don’t know anything in this town; go tell him. I, KT Hammond, said he is an NDC member, which is why he is doing the things he does.” He said.
