Angel Asiamah, the husband of embattled televangelist and former fetish priestess Patricia Asiedua Asiamah, popularly known as Nana Agradaa, has finally responded to growing public speculation surrounding his personal life following his wife’s recent conviction and 15-year jail sentence.
Speaking during a sermon at a church service, Angel Asiamah addressed rumours and criticisms that questioned whether he could remain celibate in his wife’s prolonged absence.
In a calm but firm response, Asiamah revealed that he had lived a celibate life until the age of 25, suggesting that if he was able to remain chaste during his youthful years, he is confident in his ability to do so again over the next 15 years.
“They keep asking, ‘Can you stay alone after all this?’ And I respond, ‘Why not?’ Maybe they’ve forgotten that from the time I was born until the age of 25, I had never slept with a woman. I lived a celibate life all those years, so if I could do that then, I can definitely do it now, even if my wife has to serve the full 15-year prison sentence,” Asiamah stressed.
Background
Nana Agradaa was sentenced to 15 years in prison with hard labour for defrauding members of her church by falsely promising to double their money.
The charges stemmed from a widely publicised incident during an all-night service at her Heaven Way Church, where congregants gave large sums expecting returns that never came. The Accra Circuit Court found her guilty of defrauding by false pretence and charlatanic advertisement, citing her lack of remorse and prior offences.
