Commercial sex workers (Ashawo) in the Greater Accra Region specifically Circle, Ashiaman, Lapaz and Nungua have cried out over low patronage from their clients due to the outbreak of Coronavirus in Ghana.
The sex workers who ply their trade in Circle, Ashiaman, Lapaz and Nungua are irritated because of Covid-19 with some saying that the situation is putting them out of business.
A visit by getnayasnews.wordpress.com to the ‘Ashawo’ market in Circle, Ashaiman, Lapaz and Nungua indicates that prostitutes blamed the decline in patronage on Coronavirus.
According to some of the prostitutes, they used to charge GHc5 for the short time, thus one round of sexually escapade but they now charge GHc 7 per round since prices of sanitizers have soared considerably.
They said the virus is now driving away customers therefore the need for them to find solace at other money making avenues.
