Member of Parliament for Suhum, Mr. Frank Asiedu Bekoe, has advised Ghanaians not to trust a word of President John Dramani Mahama because he is the ‘old John we knew in his first term.’
He indicated the president who delivered his first State of the Nation Address on Thursday, February 27, 2028, has nothing to offer Ghanaians; hence, we should manage our expectations. The lawmaker said the SONA delivered by the president was full of lamentations and did not inspire any form of hope.
‘’President John Mahama has nothing new to offer Ghanaians. He is the same old Mahama we knew, the incompetent, indecisive person. Ghanaians have even started regretting voting for him. I thought he was going to present to us the true state of the nation, but he engaged in lamentations and complaints and shifting of blames.”
Speaking on Frontline on Rainbow Radio 87.5FM, he said even without a global crisis, the president in his first term exhibited incompetence, mismanaged our economy, and left only $8.2 billion in our reserves in 2017.
”But with Covid affecting every economy in the world, including the UK, US, and others, the NPP managed the economy better; even after Covid, we implemented free SHS and increased worker salaries by 30%. So President Mahama was being economical with the truth. Another lie he told was that he fixed dumsor in January 2016, but by that time, we had a dumsor timetable in August, so why did he tell such a lie? If we have children listening, this is not an appropriate example for them to follow. Without President Mahama, I would not have known that August comes before January.”
The Suhum MP further alleged the government, which is barely two months in office, has already borrowed Ghc59 billion, stressing,’Ghanaians don’t have to trust Mahama. He lacks credibility and is incompetent.
